The LightBOT Co-Robot System Combines the Fanuc CRX co robot system with the IPG LightWELD laser welder. The Fanuc CRX has a 8 year maintenance free design and lifetime guarantee of support and service, the user determines the Lifetime. Horizontal time line programming simplifies programming. The welder moves the Fanuc arms by hand or pendant to different positions, swipes a Fanuc position Icon to the timeline to remember the position, then Swipes up LightBOT icons to tell the LightWELD what to do. All functions of the LightWELD can be controlled from the Fanuc controller including setting IPG preset welding modes, changing power, frequency, or wobble width on the fly, and setting Adaptive Wire Feed Control. The IPG User Interface runs directly on the Fanuc CRX pendant for advanced diagnostics and making user presets. Choice of several wire feeders is available. The LightBOT can be retrofit to any IPG LightWELD that has been delivered. LightWELD covers warranty and service on the LightWELD and Fanuc covers service on the Fanuc CRX co robot. LightBOT AP mates the two together to provide robotic integration for cost effective robot welding using the LightWELD laser system.

3 different arm sizes are available including the 10iA - 49 inch arm, 10iAL - 55 inch arm, and the 30iA - 74 inch arm. Multiple axis can be added including rotary, linear, or tilt and rotate axis. These can be fully coordinated allowing complex weld geometry and easy positioning for the LightWELD to reach all areas of the weldment. Over 100 have been installed and operating as of August 2026.
